For the fourth consecutive year, Nespresso will be present as an Official Partner of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The 2011 Festival will take place from the 11th to the 22nd of May and features an impressive jury presided over by actor, director and producer Robert De Niro. The Cannes film festival is part of the Ultimate Events portfolio of Nespresso, ranging from the most prestigious events in cinema to sports and gastronomy. Nespresso is delighted to be associated with this celebration of outstanding creativity and to have the pleasure of sharing its ultimate coffee experience with festival guests and film fans throughout the eleven day festival.
Some 185 Nespresso machines will be on site to serve 170,000 Grand Cru coffees to festival stars and guests during the event. Nominees, jurors and VIP guests are invited to visit the three Nespresso Bars, located in the Palais des Festivals, the Plage des Palmes and the Majestic Beach. Each Nespresso Bar has been especially designed for the Cannes Film festival and will feature a different Nespresso machine such as the Pixie or the newly launched Onirio Limited Edition Grand Cru.
Via Facebook and Twitter Nespresso will share memorable moments of cinema as well as a film that takes the viewer backstage in the Palais des Festivals.
Nespresso is also proud to announce that for the first time it will be supporting the discovery of new talents in cinema by sponsoring the “Grand Prix de la Semaine de la Critique,” a special prize that rewards the best debut film of a young director. Seven films are competing for the “Grand Prix Nespresso” trophy. Arnaud Deschamps, Nespresso France Market Director, will present the award during the May 19th ceremony.
