Nespresso 2012 Variations reveal delicious notes of three different nuts


Three nut aromas unfold in end-of-year limited edition range

Coffee lovers can toast in the festive season with the 2012 Nespresso Variations. This special end-of-year range of Limited Edition Grands Crus contains three different notes of nut: Coconut, Hazelnut and Macadamia Nut. Originating from one family, each Grand Cru encapsulates its own distinct taste universe, opening up new coffee discoveries.


New approach creates three Variations on one Grand Cru

The 2012 Variations continue to bring Club Members new and delightful sensory experiences that make the range so popular. Nespresso Coffee Experts investigated a new approach for this year’s Variations, working with just one “family” to provide three unique coffee experiences. The 100% natural aromas of the three highly individual, gourmet nuts were selected for blending with the Livanto Grand Cru base, whose much-loved smoothness ideally complements different flavours. Each of the three Variations 2012 has an intensity level of 6 on a scale of 1 to 10.

In the Nespresso Hazelnut Variation, the combination of Livanto Grand Cru with notes of lightly roasted hazelnut reveals praline flavours that have a fine balance in the mouth. In the Macadamia Nut Variation, the rich savours of the macadamia nut melds with the roundness of the Livanto Grand Cru to develop a surprising freshness, revealing citrus notes. Finally, the perfect harmony between Livanto Grand Cru and coconut notes offers a gourmand experience reminiscent of coconut macaroons in the Coconut Variation.

Sensorial delight alone or with milk

The subtly aromatic Variations 2012 offer delightful sensory experiences both with and without milk. By enjoying them alone as a 40ml espresso, coffee lovers can indulge in each specific note of these unique Grands Crus. Other dimensions of the Variations can be explored in milk recipes. Combining milk with Hazelnut in a latte macchiato, for example, reveals flavours reminiscent of hazelnut praline along with soft notes of caramel and roasted nuts. Coconut and milk achieve a perfect harmony in a latte macchiato with a soft and smooth texture. Meanwhile, the rich notes of Macadamia Nut merge with smooth milk froth to create a delicate cappuccino with lightly roasted notes.
